The Awakening Godhead Within: Morenian Theory with Therapeutic Spiral Model Psychodrama
One of the most beautiful concepts of the Therapeutic Spiral Model of Psychodrama is the understanding of the sleeping/awakening child. When trauma happens, one part of the being becomes the victim child who takes the pain and the other part of the being goes to sleep, does not experience the abuse and holds the treasured qualities of the child’s spirit. When healing comes, the sleeping child awakens and emerges through the help of the roles of good enough parent/good enough partner/good enough god. The awakening child releases all the wonderful qualities it has been protecting and those qualities become integrated into the transforming adult.

Zerka Moreno says when the first and the second universe meet they ignite the autonomous healing center and change happens. In Therapeutic Spiral Model Psychodrama, the autonomous healing center is ignited at the moment the victim child feels safe. It is then the sleeping child awakens. In the moment when the protagonist engages his/her strengths, manages his/her defenses and walks to his/her trauma without falling into the trauma, then the protagonist can rescue the victim child. At that moment, with the help of the group and the creation of the sacred space of healing found in the six safety structures, the first and the second universe merge and healing happens. The victim child feels safe, the sleeping child awakens and the protagonist moves towards transformation.

Ignite your autonomous healing center through the six safety structures of the Therapeutic Spiral Model of Psychodrama and explore the sleeping/awakening Godhead child through art project, psychodrama/soicodrama and role reversal. This workshop is a merger of theory, experiential learning, psychodramatic experience, groupwork and sacred creation all aimed at increasing spontaneity, joy and healing.
