Building Resilience in Youth with TSM Psychodrama
Jul 14 @ 7:00 am – Aug 18 @ 9:30 am

Presented by: Mario Cossa, RDT/MT, TEP, Certified TSM Trainer, ASGPP Innovator’s Award Recipient for 2019.

I believe passionately that adolescence is the prime time in life to both correct the developmental milestones that were missed in childhood, for whatever reason, and to provide the tools for today’s youth to become tomorrow’s leaders who will transform our society for the better.

Young people are extremely sensitive to the tensions of their communities and the planet, especially during times of increased stress. This on-line, live course teaches how to use TSM Psychodrama with adolescents and will explore the basics of utilizing action methods with youth, individually and in groups, and the specifics of applying TSM theory and methodology to this population. Articles and handouts provided.

Additional individual and/or group supervision for those working in the field can also be arranged.

The course will be conducted in 6, 2.5-hour sessions on ZOOM, for a total of 15 training hours.

Dates and Times: Tuesdays, beginning July 14 and running weekly through and including August 18, 2020. Time will be 7-9:30 AM UTC (London, etc.) – add one hour for each additional time zone traveling east

Brain In Action: The Neurobiology of Trauma @ Taipei, Taiwan
Apr 15 @ 9:00 am – Apr 18 @ 5:00 pm
Brain In Action: The Neurobiology of Trauma @ Taipei, Taiwan

People who have experienced traumatic events can have significant changes in the neurobiology of their brain. The right brain holds emotions, relationship information, and unprocessed trauma, often in the form ofashbacks, body memories, intrusive thoughts and dissociated feelings. It is always turned on by an overactive amygdala. The left brain’s coherent function, which provides meaning to stay in the here and now, is interrupted by stress hormones as the result of danger signals from the amygdala.

Participants will learn to use the Body Double (bd) intervention to work with the energetic body and the ‘rhythmic rupture’ it su ers, along with the physical body and the brain, due to traumatic events. The brain-in-action, along with attachment structures, are taught through demonstration and live supervised practice and can be used immediately following the workshop in individual, couples and family therapy, as well as by educators and community organizers. This workshop expands the repertoire of students and practitioners of emdr, eft, sensory motor integration, as well as drama therapy and psychodrama.
